Thank you for visiting The Ranch Project!  We are currently hard at work developing programs and projects that will make a difference in people's lives.  America's internal problems and struggles can be solved if communities will band together to overcome them.  The Ranch Project is one attempt to inspire such action.  Good and honest people like you can reach out and touch lives, help the community, heal the nation.  Your interest and your support will make the difference.

Help for The Battered and Beaten

From Shattered to Whole

Domestic Violence is a rampant problem in our society.

The Ranch Project provides twelve programs to help provide emergency support and relief, alleviation and eventually elimination of this particular societal scourge.

The exchange program allows battered women from one city to trade positions with someone of like circumstances in another city. This provides immediate security and safety through the simple and expedient method of getting the abused into a different city from their abuser.

This program identifies, evaluates, rates and provides listings for existing shelters for battered and beaten women (and men!) who need a short term place to stay while they consider the next steps to take in the recovery of their lives.
This facility provides intake of battered and beaten women and their dependent children and prepares them for transition into longer term rehabilitation / recovery centers.

A significant number of domestic violence cases in this state are instances of a man being abused by a female loved one. This program focuses specifically on the needs of men seeking relief from and transition out of abusive relationships.

The Social Renewal program seeks to coordinate long term overarching efforts to reduce the occurence and negative impact of Domestic Violence in society. Its focus is long term strategic systemic remedies to the problems of Domestic Abuse. This program comprises legislative lobbying and endeavors, ongoing educational efforts in our schools and churches, and more.  The strategic purpose is to expand community capacity for dealing with these issues and to deal systemically to reduce the number and severity of domestic violence incidents here in the Pacifc Northwest.

In far too many instances, abused spouses and partners end up returning to relationships with the people who have abused them. This is not always a bad thing, since children, ongoing joint efforts, or other such must be considered before a definitive judgment can be made. In many cases, though, the decision to return is made due to a woman's feeling of inadequacy and lack of self confidence. In many cases the abused actually blames themself for the the abuse. Many believe they are not worthy or deserving of a better partner.

Thou Art Worthy provides support and programs for helping the battered see themselves as valuable and worthy individuals. This is done with an eye toward assisting the abused to make a rational, educated decision about when and how (if at all) they should return into a relationship with an abusive partner.
Relationships can be sticky, especially long-standing ones.  Such things as children, jobs, ongoing education, recreational / sporting activities, common friends, and more can all combine to make severing a long-standing relationship extremely difficult. The Broken Chains program assists battered spouses to break the chains that bind them to unhealthy and destructive relationships.

The transition out of an abusive relationship can be a lonely, frightening, heart-rending ordeal. This program connects those going through this trial with others that are doing the same thing. It also connects them with those that have been through the transition already.

In many cases, lack of viable job skills is an enormous factor in driving an abused person back into the arms of an abuser; for where else - they think - are they to find a means of finaincial support. The partner has been the one who has provided for the family... what will I do?

The Trade Skills program will enable victims of abuse to get valuable job training so they will have marketable skillls and will no longer be dependent upon the financial support of a former partner.

The Air Rescue program is a directory of affiliated small plane pilots who are willing to fly battered and beaten people and their families to new cities, either for temporary refuge or to begin anew.

A program for those who have chosen to sever an abusive relationship.  In this program a newly liberated person can follow a step-by-step plan to help them make the transisiton from shattered to whole.

The Domestic Violence Project provides a high security compound for the housing of the victims and families of particularly dangerous abusive partners.  The compound is staffed with guards as well as police officers, and it is physically secure and isolated. It provides security and safety in extremis.
