US Coalition for Prison Reform
Our burgeoning prison population is a severe problem in our society. Convicts are released from prisons as hardened and better educated criminals. Each time they are sentenced they emerge more likely to further commit crimes instead of less.
A fundamental change in the way offenders are handled needs to be made. Prisons could be places that allow offenders to improve themselves as citizens instead of improving themselves as criminals.
The US Coalition for Prison Reform is an umbrella organization that coordinates initiatives in this direction.
